Ingredients
Scale
4 cups fresh, cubed watermelon (frozen is best for texture)
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup water or unsweetened almond milk
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional boost)
Instructions
Prepare your watermelon by cubing it and freezing the pieces for at least four hours, or use pre-frozen cubes.
Place the frozen watermelon, frozen strawberries, water (or almond milk), and lime juice into your blender.
Add the chia seeds now if you are using them for extra fiber.
Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed.
Pour the refreshing fruit smoothie into glasses immediately and serve.
Notes
For a creamier watermelon smoothie, substitute the water with dairy-free yogurt or Greek yogurt.
If your fruit is not frozen, add 1 cup of ice cubes to achieve a cold, thick texture.
This recipe is naturally sweet, but you can add a small drizzle of maple syrup if your watermelon is not ripe enough.
