Make this creamy, savory Olive Lovers’ Dream Dip for your next gathering. This Mediterranean-inspired appetizer uses green and black olives blended with cream cheese for a bold flavor that pairs well with crackers or vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces sour cream
  • 1 cup pitted green olives, drained and chopped
  • 1/2 cup pitted black olives, drained and chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Optional garnish: fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese and sour cream into a food processor. Pulse until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Add the chopped green olives, black olives, minced garlic, lemon juice, oregano, onion powder, and black pepper to the food processor.
  3. Pulse the mixture until the olives are finely chopped and incorporated into the cheese base. Do not over-process; you want some texture remaining.
  4. With the processor running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until combined.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to blend. This step is important for the best taste.
  6. Before serving, garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve with pita chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables for an easy appetizer.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, prepare this dip a few hours ahead of time or the day before you plan to serve it.
  • If you do not have a food processor, you can finely chop the olives by hand and mix all ingredients thoroughly in a bowl using a sturdy spoon or hand mixer.
  • This dip is a great make ahead dip for parties.
