Make restaurant-quality salmon at home quickly with this easy baked recipe featuring a sweet and savory honey garlic butter glaze. This results in moist, flaky fish perfect for any weeknight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, sliced for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for simple cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. This helps the glaze adhere and promotes better texture. Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined. This is your honey garlic butter glaze.
  4. Spoon or brush the glaze evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  6. Remove from the oven. If desired, garnish with fresh lemon slices before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For crispier edges, you can briefly place the salmon under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning the honey.
  • If you prefer a Texas Roadhouse style flavor, substitute the Italian seasoning with a smoky spice blend containing chili powder and cumin.
  • This recipe is excellent for meal prep; simply reheat gently.
