Make this flavorful honey garlic chicken and green beans skillet dinner tonight. This one-pan recipe delivers juicy chicken and crisp vegetables in under 30 minutes, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the cut chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the trimmed green beans to the same skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 4-5 minutes until they start to become tender-crisp.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the green beans and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes, if using.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken and green beans.
  7. Toss everything together to coat well. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and glaze the chicken.
  8. Remove from heat and serve immediately for a fast healthy dinner idea.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sear the chicken thighs instead of breasts.
  • If the sauce reduces too quickly, add one tablespoon of water to loosen it slightly.
  • This dish is naturally low carb and fits well into a keto chicken and green beans meal plan.
