Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces blue cheese, crumbled, divided
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped green olives (pitted)
  • 1/2 cup olive brine (from the olive jar)
  • 2 ounces gin (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Extra chopped olives and olive oil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese, half of the blue cheese, sour cream, chopped olives, olive brine, gin (if using), and garlic powder into a medium bowl.
  2. Use an electric mixer or a sturdy spoon to beat the ingredients until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Season the dip with salt and pepper to your taste.
  4. Stir in the remaining crumbled blue cheese by hand for texture.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl.
  6. Cover the bowl and chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Before serving, garnish the top with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of extra chopped olives.
  8. Serve cold with crackers, pita chips, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the gin. The brine provides plenty of martini flavor.
  • You can make this dip up to 2 days ahead of time. Keep it covered in the refrigerator.
  • Serve this dip in a large martini glass for a festive presentation.
  • Use high-quality green olives for the best briny flavor.
