2 oz blanco tequila
1 oz orange liqueur
1 oz fresh lime juice
2 oz cranberry juice (100% juice preferred)
1 oz pomegranate juice (100% juice preferred)
Optional: 0.5 oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
For Rim: Coarse salt or granulated sugar
For Garnish: Fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, rosemary sprigs
Instructions
Prepare the rim: Pour salt or sugar onto a small plate. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your serving glass. Dip the rim into the salt or sugar to coat evenly.
Combine ingredients: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, cranberry juice, and pomegranate juice. Add simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink.
Shake well: Seal the shaker and shake vigorously until the outside is very cold, about 15 seconds.
Strain and serve: Fill your prepared glass with fresh ice. Strain the margarita mixture into the glass.
Garnish: Add fresh cranberries, a few pomegranate arils, and a small rosemary sprig to the drink for a festive look.
For a pitcher: Combine all liquid ingredients (omit ice) in a pitcher. Chill for at least 2 hours. When ready to serve, shake individual portions with ice or pour over ice and add a splash of soda water for a lighter drink.
Notes
For a mocktail version, substitute the tequila and orange liqueur with equal parts white grape juice and a splash of orange extract.
If you want a deeper red color, increase the pomegranate juice by 0.5 oz.
For a make ahead cocktails pitcher, mix everything except ice and store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
