You can make flaky, buttery croissants filled with savory ham and gooey melted cheese in under 30 minutes using this simple recipe. This is a crowd-pleasing favorite perfect for a quick breakfast, brunch, or easy lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 6 slices deli ham
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Separate the dough into 8 triangles.
  3. On the wide end of each triangle, place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese.
  4. Roll each triangle up tightly, starting from the wide end and rolling toward the point. Place the rolled croissants seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and Dijon mustard until combined. This creates your Dijon glaze.
  6. Brush the tops of the croissants evenly with the Dijon glaze. Sprinkle with poppy seeds if you are using them.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can substitute Gruyère or sharp cheddar cheese for the Swiss cheese.
  • If you want a slightly sweeter glaze, add 1/2 teaspoon of honey to the Dijon butter mixture.
  • This recipe works well as a quick dinner idea when you need a satisfying meal fast.
