Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream liqueur
  • 1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (14.3 ounces) chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed
  • 1 cup chocolate whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed, for topping
  • Extra Baileys or chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cookie base: Place half of the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies in the bottom of a large glass trifle bowl. Press down lightly to form the first layer.
  2. Make the cheesecake layer: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream and the Baileys Irish Cream liqueur into the cream cheese mixture until just combined.
  3. Assemble the first creamy layer: Spread half of the Baileys cheesecake mixture evenly over the cookie base in the trifle bowl.
  4. Prepare the pudding layer: Whisk the instant chocolate pudding mix with the cold milk according to package directions until thickened. This should take about 2 minutes.
  5. Assemble the pudding layer: Gently spread all of the prepared chocolate pudding over the Baileys cheesecake layer.
  6. Assemble the second creamy layer: Top the pudding layer with the remaining half of the Baileys cheesecake mixture.
  7. Add the final cookie layer: Sprinkle the remaining half of the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies over the cheesecake layer.
  8. Chill: Cover the trifle bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the layers to set firmly.
  9. Garnish and serve: Before serving, top the trifle with the thawed chocolate whipped topping. Garnish with extra Baileys drizzle or chocolate shavings. Serve cold.

Notes

  • You can make this dessert ahead of time; it tastes better after chilling overnight.
  • For individual servings, assemble the layers in small glasses instead of one large bowl.
  • If you prefer a stronger coffee liqueur flavor, substitute 1/4 cup of the milk used for the pudding with an extra splash of Baileys.
